PLEASE do not say nothing. I do not have ANYONE to borrow jewelry from. So I am seriously trying to figure out how much to spend. There is a beautiful swarovski crystal and necklace set I want that is 79.99+shipping. I know I would wear this again. I have seen other sets as cheap as 16.00 but I would never wear these things again….they are cheap looking to me. So what I want to know is how much did you budget for and how much did you actually spend?

I hadn’t made a budget, really. My gown had crystals and other embellishments, and I know I wanted a longer-type necklace, so I found a gorgeous one of crystals – graduated sizes, it was $75. Crystal drop earrings (not a set, but matched nicely) were 25 or 30 I think.

So the price of your set sounds fine. I’ve worn mine lots since the wedding.

As you are deciding on which wedding rings you and your beloved desire to wear as a symbol of your undying love for one another you may be interested in how this practice came about and the true meaning of wedding rings. The symbolism and rituals are in everything we do today; in particular is the fact when a man or women commits their love to their significant other and gives them the promise of marriage. Certainly, the circle of a ring represents undying love and the continually renewed vows of the married couple. Rings have been used as a symbol of love for many years.

During the 15th century and only few people were able to have diamonds in the rings above all other types of gems, diamonds was known to be the ultimate gem and symbol with properties that no other gemstone posses, it also has the ability to resist incredible forces of destruction. Titanium is one of the most precious metals when producing wedding rings, it is more beautiful than gold or platinum and the quality and the value it posses is a incredible symbol of the love of two people.

When looking back in history the fourth finger has been seen as the symbol of love, the symbol of trustworthiness, faithfulness, and fidelity. It was thought that the fourth finger contained a special vein that was connected directly to the heart, and therefore this became the official finger for the wedding band.

A popular engagement ring for women is the round diamond brilliant cut. The diamond can be crafted into many different sizes and shapes, so when choosing tempt your fiancé with the clarity and sparkle of the different types of diamonds. Wedding rings hold a deep meaning, even though most of the people look at the aesthetic value.

You’re no longer limited to gold and platinum as the only choices for wedding rings. When choosing a metal that is similar to white gold but much more durable than it a good choice is platinum. White gold goes with platinum or silver and it coordinates with or most fabrics; platinum is a hard metal which makes it very durable for the couples long lasting love.

As more men celebrate their marriage by the wearing of a wedding ring, mens diamond rings are fast becoming the new mens fashion. Titanium is creating a new look and setting new standards as the classiest materials used in rings, many men are turning to this type of metal. Titanium is setting a standard in the looks of contemporary mens wedding bands.

When planning for a wedding something to consider is the purchase of the wedding rings since wedding usually go over budget it would be a good idea to set a budget and follow a plan when planning the wedding. As the wedding approaches and time seems to move quicker trying to find the ring that is right for you and for the price that you can afford will be one the stressful factors you will need to deal with. The style, color will effect the price of the ring while the size and width of the ring band will normally not have an effect on the price of the ring.

I want to sell an engaement ring and wedding band set, I would prefer not to use ebay,I want to just directly sell it to a company or innduviual. I dont know much about the ring except that it is a round cut, has a matching channel band with 8 diamonds. The ring has a round center stone with four diamonds on each side. I am not sure of the size or total weight of these diamonds.

I’d have it appraised by a jeweler. Then you are less likely to get ripped off. You won’t get much if you take it to a jewelry dealer, so I wouldn’t even look there. Your best bet is to find a buyer who is looking to buy for his girlfriend, or if there is something else that you’re really wanting, try to work out a trade. I traded my engagement ring for a 125 gallon reef tank setup…lol. Some people think that is crazy, but I traded something that I no longer wanted for something that I really did want, and I have never regretted it. BTW, I tried to sell mine on ebay once…top offer was $300 dollars, less than 10% o fthe ring’s value. Don’t go ebay. If you use the newspaper, set up an anonimous email account. Don’t use your phone number or name. Another option is to talk to pawn shop owners. Sometimes pawn shop owners will do a consignment, where you tell how much you want to get for the ring, and they price it higher to get a cut of their own. They then sell it in their shop.

The one with the diamond, is the engagement ring.
The wedding band, though, sometimes has diamonds in it, but they are embedded into the band.

I had an engagement ring from that era & really liked the styles they offered then. I had a 3 stone ring with marquee cut diamonds surrounded by lots of medium & small baguettes. I have looked on many sites & don’t care for the styles today at all. I am afraid of being ripped off by shopping on e-bay & do not want to pay someone a tremendous amount of money to design one that I know is probably laying around in a backroom somewhere.
Thanks for any help or ideas.

Try looking in the Pennysaver, sometimes you can find some great deals, or in a pawn shop, sometimes people get rid of their jewelry.

the only cheap rings ive seen are like titanuim sterling silver and others but i dont know if they are good medals or if the will rust or make your finger turn green? i really want white gold wedding band for me and my husband were can i find the set for bride and groom cheap from$150-$200

The biggest problem with Titanium is that it cannot be sized. So if you ever lose or gain weight, you’ll have to buy a new ring.

Sterling Silver is fine, as long as it’s truly Sterling Silver. You want something that’s solid, not just plated.

Overstock.com is a good place to look.
Here’s a white gold and diamond band for $129
And a nifty heart & diamond ring for under $100

Just doing a quick look online, a white gold men’s band is around $150 for 14K and 5-6mm.

I found a .925 Sterling Silver 6mm band for him for $27. http://www.perryolsen.com/Sterling-Silver-Wedding-Band-Ring-6mm-P103731.html

I am going through a divorce and need some money ASAP, so I want to sell my wedding ring set. It’s a 1 carat princess cut solitaire with a thick white gold band/setting, and the wedding band is a total 1 carat (I believe, maybe 3/4) with 8 princess cut diamonds and white gold. They are only about 1 year old. I’m not sure how much they sold for, but I think it was close to $4K. I’ve never done the whole pawning/selling thing so I have no idea how much I would get for it or what the process is. Unfortunately, I don’t have the original paperwork on the rings either. How would I go about getting the right amount of money for these and how much would I get?? I just need someone to explain the whole process to me too. Thanks!

A pawn broker is going to give you Maybe 1/10th of the value of the rings. A $4000.00 ring set might get you $300.00 or $400.00.

I’d look into a jewelry consignment shop, if they have one near. You’re a little more likely to get about 1/2 of what you spent on it that way.

Maybe even advertise in the newspaper. You might get 2/3 to 3/4 of the value if you find a bargain-minded buyer.

Pawn shops are horrible rip offs. They pay lowball prices, then mark the stuff up to barely 10% off retail value when reselling.

I am getting a beautiful cocktail ring in diamond and platinum and wish to wear it often. I would like my engagement/wedding band reset in platinum to match when needed and would like to know a round approximation before I get my first estimate. Anyone have any ideas?

Depends on the size of the ring and where you get it done. You should probably go to a jewelry store and ask them how much it would cost. =)

Every website i go to has the same rings where can i find something different, and do you know of any sites that sell settings and diamonds by themselves?

http://mdcdiamonds.com/EngagementRings.cfm they have the biggest online selection, and they show rings that previous customers designed, and they also sell settings and diamonds for excellent prices.
