We bought my wedding and engagement band set in 1980. it is 14kt yellow and rose gold~the band has roses carved into it in 14 kt rose gold and there are 14kt yellow gold leaves between each rose. I am trying to replace it. I bought it at Dobbs jewelry which has since then closed, i cannot remember the name of the company that made the ring other than it started with the letter B. Any information would be greatly appreciated.Thanks Barb
Was the jewler a franchise? Maybe they have other stores even in other cities or even states since the one you went to is closed? Try googling the old jewlers name? Maybe you can take the ring to another high end jewler and ask them, maybe they would know?

Considering how much gold is in the setting and the price of the stones, I have a feeling the makeup is sky high.
The general rule for jewelry stores is 3x.
So, say a ring costs them $100. They add another $100 to replace the one you bought and buy themselves a new one. Then they add another $100 for pure profit.
So a ring that costs them $100 is costing you $300.
I’m stuck on deciding the jewelry I want to use for my wedding. I already have all of my jewelry its all pearls (Tiara, necklace(s), earrings, and bracelet). But, I was considering using CZ’s. So I bought CZ sets for my bridesmaid’s and can’t find any decent CZ set for myself. So I’m thinking of go with pearls and getting my girls pearl sets.
But, if I do that I’m stuck with 2 CZ sets.Should I just give them the CZ sets anyway, along with the pearl sets for the big day?
The pearl sets are $15 a piece and come with a bracelet, necklace and a set of earrings, and are set in sterling silver.
The CZ sets are round solitaire CZ necklaces, simple round cut CZ earrings and the bracelet is round cut CZs the start out around 1.5mm-2mm near the clasp and get gradually bigger near the center with the biggest stone being approx. 6.5mm – 7mm. Set in sterling silver.
The pearls will the cheaper… They’re good quality sets.
I like pearls for a wedding, so I would use those.
I did the same thing with my bridesmaid purses, I’m just going to give the extras I bought (for you the two extra CZ sets) out next year for Christmas.

I still haven’t found the right jewelry yet! Nothing pops out to me! I live in the UK but am getting married back home in the US. Anytime I search for sites it only comes up with UK sites. Purple: Amethyst (one of our wedding colors)
Green: Emerald (one of hubbys favorite colors)
Diamonds: I prefer diamonds.
I would like to purchase a jewelry set: earrings, necklace, braclet and a ring. I want to look like a million bucks, without spending a million bucks. My wedding ring is in white gold, and I LOVE white gold. So anything that I purchase will be in white gold. I have a budget. I know where to get some great deals.

It is YOUR wedding day is it not? Hopefully, you only do this once! (at least that the way it’s supposed to be right?) If you prefer diamonds, you can actually have a necklace & bracelet made with all three. Diamond center with Amerthyst and Emeralds on each side.
Match with a braclet and maybe diamond stud earings. Then everyone’s happy and you didn’t spend a million bucks.
